Is Cloud adoption at the expense of healthcare? That is the million-dollar question.

In the past there have been numerous examples of rapid adoption to the benefit of time, user and patient. However, technology adoption is not going that fast. How did that happen?

In this article we write some topics about how Software has a place in healthcare and one can think about it before taking a step towards “innovative” systems or software upgrades.

1️⃣ Clinical need: technology must meet a need. They must offer a noticeable improvement compared to the current way of working.

2️⃣ Integration into the work process: Time is scarce in healthcare, so technology must make the healthcare process simpler and fit seamlessly into the current way of working.

3️⃣ Cost: if a new technology or software version costs more, this puts extra pressure on the (already too) tight healthcare budget. Innovation or purchases that result in cost savings are given an advantage.

4️⃣ Clinical validation: it must be proven that the technology works and has added value for the patient and/or healthcare provider, the processes must not be disrupted or degraded in quality.

5️⃣ User Experience or the operational bottleneck: finally, technology will only stand a chance if it is easy to use and has been tested by the target group. In the experience of many IT managers: 'less is more', fewer bells and whistles, but reliable, simple and does what it has to do. In practice, it is risky to tamper with the infrastructure, therefore the implementation of new software with all system dependencies is a risk and this will have to be part of a continuity plan.

Conclusion:
The value of a stable environment, where the user can assume a continuous and consistent process, is literally of vital importance.
At the same time, the financial costs are under pressure and consideration must be given to how this can be achieved through cost savings and a constant or decreasing workload.
Alternatively, today we also need to think about the circular nature and reuse of resources.

Some easy savings in the field of ICT:
1 License per device instead of per user
2. License for a long, consistent period,
3. More for less money, through the use of Circular licenses.
4. Consider and anticipate the Software Lifecycle.
5. Involve an independent “cost optimization” partner.
6. Extend the lifespan through refurbishment & Circular software
7. Don't jump on the latest hype and let someone else make the mistakes.
8. Choose hybrid systems for best of breed use (edge computing)

From the message on X, it appears that the Windows 11 24H2 update requires an additional piece of technology: the so-called POPCNT instruction. Various parts of the 24H2 update are linked to that instruction, which is part of modern processors. If the instruction set is missing, your Windows computer simply won't boot.

LicencePro, your innovative Microsoft partner, offers you a suitable “audit-proof” but above all a very “budget-friendly” solution.
Microsoft Windows 10 professional is a suitable alternative that we can offer you as a solution for your older hardware.

Now you may be thinking, is a previous version and also second-hand allowed and possible?

Yes, a license is a right of use and if it has been purchased within European trade and paid for in full, this license may and may be used again.

Microsoft has even issued an (LCA) statement for this, where Microsoft's Head of Corporate, External & Legal Affairs actually states that it is legally permitted and according to Microsoft's user agreement to purchase or sell excess Microsoft Volume licenses. Of course, under certain conditions and in compliance with the rules.

LicencePro knows these conditions and has been trading in second-hand licenses for over 10 years. This way we ensure that our customers and your organization will never find themselves in a conflict situation with Microsoft.

Has this aroused your interest? Please contact one of our Microsoft licensing specialists without obligation, we will be happy to help you.

The backbone of your business or a drain on your finance?

Software is the backbone of modern companies. It is the driving force behind critical infrastructure, communication, transportation, and even entertainment. However, software is not a tangible asset, and its value is often overlooked. This is where software licensing comes into play.

A software license is a legal agreement between the software developer or publisher and the user. It outlines the terms and conditions under which the software can be used, including any restrictions on how it can be used, how many users can use it, and for how long it can be used.

Software licenses can come in two forms: proprietary and open-source. Proprietary licenses are owned by a specific company and only licensed for use. On the other hand, open-source licenses allow users to view, modify, and distribute the source code.

It is important to note that software licensing is in accordance with applicable laws for your region. Some software is freely available, while others require the user to purchase a license or pay a subscription fee to use it.

In short, software licensing is a way to allow others to use the software while still protecting the rights of the creators. As software continues to play a critical role in our day-to-day lives, understanding software licensing and your rights is more important than ever.

Microsoft auditors are contacting us, what now??

Have you received an audit letter from Microsoft? The risk of findings increases with the frequency and number of changes to underlying contracts, service agreements, product use rights, and "other" regulations. So pick a story and stick to it! ⚠️😉

Here's what you can do to prepare for the audit:

1️⃣ Use the 30-Day Preparation Window: You have 30 days to initiate the audit process. Use this time to prepare and gather the necessary resources. You are obliged to allow the audit to start within 30 days of receiving the notice and pay any penalties within 30 days after the audit.

2️⃣ Seek Help: Find an experienced partner to assist with the audit.

3️⃣ Inform Stakeholders: Alert your Management team and the relevant board members about the audit and its financial risks.

4️⃣ Take control of the Timeline: After your initial interaction with the auditor, take the time you need before you respond. There's no legal obligation to be in a rush to submit information or answer inquiries.

5️⃣ Review Your Agreements and Contracts: Study the audit terms in your Microsoft agreement under "Verifying compliance" to gather insight into the terms actually applying to what you have in contract.

6️⃣ Non-Compliance: Be aware that non-compliance now poses significant risks of broadening the scope, including auditors wanting to examine records from multiple years back and eventually pushing for the purchase of products, imposing hefty fines, or both.

7️⃣ Information Sharing: Be careful not to share more than needed. But do make sure all is correctly and completely shared when asked for information.

If you need external help getting licenses bought fast, contact us for peace of mind and free-of-charge expert recommendations. Being mindful and deliberate in your actions is the most important thing.
